Broken Hip Fatal To Elderly Woman

Funeral services were held at St. Johns Friday for Mrs. Eugene Parr, 72, mother
of Stephen Parr, owner of the Ann Street Food market.

Mrs. Parr had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Parr but had been visiting for the
past two weeks with relatives in St. Johns.  On Monday she had the misfortune to
fall from the back porch and re-break her hip which was first broken last
September.  Due to a weak heart and her age, she was unable to withstand the
shock and passed away Tuesday.

Besides the Parr family, several of the close neighbors who had become well
acquainted with Mrs. Parr attended her funeral.  She was a pleasing old lady and
will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
