Truman H. Parsons was born Oct. 20, 1857, in Springfield, Ohio, and departed
this life Jan. 22, 1919, being 61 yrs., 3 mos. and 2 days of age.  When seven
years of age, he came with his parents to Michigan settling at Carleton Center,
Barry county.  When he was fifteen years of age the family came to South Boston,
where they bought a farm which still remains in the family for a third
generation, and from which a plat of ground was taken for a Methodist Episcopal
church with which the family has been identified.

Seven years ago Brother Parsons came to Grand Rapids which has been his home
since.  Oct. 22, 1879, he was married to Miss Hattie Sneathen, and to this union
were born one son, Jay T. Parsons, who still lives on the old homestead, two
daughters, Mrs. Ruby Dogger, of Grand Rapids and Miss Beulah Parsons who
preceded her father to the Heavenly Home, having died June 18, 1916.  He also
leaves three grand children and one sister, Mrs. D.W. Rogers of Hastings and a
host of friends who will mourn their loss.

He was converted to God in early life and became a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church of which he has remained a consistent member until his union
with the church Triumphant which is before the throne of God.

He was a devoted husband and loving father and honorable citizen.

The funeral services were held from the family residence, 1234 Terrace Ave.,
S.E., Grand Rapids, Saturday, January 25, and interment in the family cemetery
at South Boston, Ionia county.
