Parsons, 80 Passes Jay T. Parsons, aged 80 lifetime resident and farmer of South Boston passed away at the home of his son, Glenn on April 18, 1962, after a lingering illness of four years. Prior to that time, he was active in helping his son, Glenn, on the farm that has been in the Parsons family for five generations; passing down from Clark Parsons to Truman, then Jay, Glenn and now again to Clark Parsons, who was named after his great-great-grandfather. Mr. Parsons resided for a short while in Lowell, where he made many friends. Even when in Lowell, he would drive out to the Parsons farm every day to put in a garden and watch the farm activities. He was born December 7, 1881. He leaves his wife Edna, who is with the Glenn Parsons family; three children, Glenn of Lowell, Lester of Cedar Springs and Mrs. Simon (Pearl) Boomers of Ada; one sister, Mrs. Peter (Ruby) Dogger of Azusa, California; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The Reverend J. Marion DeVinney officiated at the services held on Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in South Boston Cemetery.
