Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Dec 1932

A large number of persons gathered at the home, 156 Lafayette street, Sunday, to
attend the funeral services for Mrs. Frank Patrick, conducted by Dr. M.W.
Duffey.  She died Friday morning following a long illness.  Interment was in
Balcom cemetery.

Dr. Duffey spoke in kindly terms of the motherliness of Mrs. Patrick, who had
been so kind to four step-children.  In his sermon he constantly linked the name
of Christ with the word “mother,” and in a praiseworthy manner as expressed by
appreciation of these children.  He added that in life one of the things that
all people dreaded was death but those whose faith was in Christ had the hope of
a deathless life.

Those acting as bearers were: Samuel Tory, Byron Green, Arthur Schneider, Howard
Shilton, Belmont Berger, Frank Lausbcher.  Flowers were in charge of Mr. and
Mrs. Jacob Moore, Mrs. Fred Owens, Miss Jennie Conner, Miss Ann Conner. 
Chandler Haight sang.  

Among those from out of town attending were Samuel Tory, Gary, Ind.; Mr. and
Mrs. William Carlysle, Plainwell; Mr. and Mrs. William Wallace and children,
Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harris and Frances and Olvine, Mr. and Mrs. Martin
Scheinder, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Waite, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Green, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Gren, Mr. and Mrs. George Buenger, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laubscher, Mrs. May
Shilton, Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. William Harwood, Saranac; Mr. and Mrs.
Shane, Grand Ledge; Mr. and Mrs. William Shilton, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Shutz, Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Shilton, Grand Ledge.
