Ionia Shopper's Guide - Sept. 2011


Darlene B. Patrick, age 79, of Ionia, passed away September 20, 2011 after a 
brief illness in Ionia. She was born April 6, 1932 in Ionia, the daughter of 
Leon and Erma (Becky) Burns. She married Keith A. Patrick June 30, 1951. He 
preceded her in death in 1980. She worked for Ionia County Memorial hospital 
for over 33 years, retiring in October of 2006. In retirement Darlene was an 
avid reader, and talented crocheter.

Darlene is survived by her children Kim A. (Laurenda) Patrick of Ionia, Lori 
Grant of Ionia, Jodi (Nelson) Niederer of Bay City, and Kurt (Alexa) Patrick of 
Wisconsin’ 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Brad and Mike, and one grandson Jeffrey.

The family would like to acknowledge the years of warm friendship that Margaret 
Hybarger shared with Darlene.

A visitation only was held Friday, September 23rd at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Darlene’s name to 
Ionia Area hospice or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be
