Headlines:  Frank Patrick, Ill For Months, Dead At Home.  Widow Receives 
Notice of Death of Brother, Ben Shilton, at Hastings on Same Day.

The death of Frank Patrick occurred at the family home on East Main Street 
8:30 Sunday evening, after an illness covering a period of more than a year.  
He would have been 58 years of age had he lived until January 8, 1923.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Patrick, who came from England in early day 
and settled in Berlin township, most of his life was spent there.  By virtue 
of his having been in the business of buying and shipping livestock for many 
years, he had a wide acquaintance throughout the country, as well as in this 
city, where he has resided about 12 years.  Besides the widow, there are four 
children, as follows:  Mrs. Fred Rumbaugh and Fred R. Patrick, of Berlin; and 
Hazel and Carrie, who are at the parental home.  Mrs. Rumbaugh resides on the 
farm where her father was born and Fred on a farm in some neighborhood which 
was owned by the father, who also leaves three sisters—Mrs. William Harwood, 
of Berlin Township; Mrs. George Germiquet, of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Sherman 
Keefer, of Lyons Township.

It is a rather singular coincidence that on the same day of her husband’s 
death Mrs. Patrick received intelligence… (portion illigible)… a brother of 
Mrs. Sarah Burger, of this city.

At the hour of going to press arrangements for the funeral had not been 
definitely made.
