The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Thursday, August 27, 1908
Carrie Eddy was born in Berlin township, Ionia county, Mich. Aug. 16, 1867, 
being the sixth child of Peleg and Ann E. Eddy.  At age of six years she was 
left without a mother and at thirteen assumed the care of her father’s 
household, which place she faithfully filled until her marriage to Frank 
Patrick, March 14, 1886.  To this union were born five children, Margie, Fred, 
Lee (who died in infancy), Hazel and the infant babe.

She is also survived by one sister and three brothers, besides her many 
friends, who with the husband will mourn the loss of one kind and 
affectionate, ready and willing at all times to lend a helping hand. 

She peacefully passed away August 21, 1908, after a brief illness of twelve 
days.  Our loss is her gain, and she has only passed over to prepare a home 
where we all may be reunited and never know the sorrow of parting. 

The funeral services were held at the home August 23, Rev. A. Simmons, of the 
LeValley church officiating.  Interment in the Balcom cemetery.
