Patrick, son of Robert and Ursula Patrick, was born in England Jan. 2, 1838 and died at his home in Berlin township Jan. 5, 1910, aged 72 years, 3 days. At the age of four years he came to this country with his parents, who settled in the state of New Jersey and later moved to Niagara county, N. Y. When Charles was seventeen years of age, his parents moved in Michigan and located on the old Patrick homestead in this township. In 1877 he married Amanda Thomas, who, with their two children, Hal and Harriet, survive him. The deceased was a member of a large family and leaves four brothers, Frederick, John, Wallace and Edward, of this county, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Rogers and Mrs. Rachel Pike, of Lakeview, Mich. The departed was an honest, upright citizen, a good husband and father, and a person which the community will greatly miss.
