The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 5, 1940

Robert C. Patterson, aged 58, former Ionia resident for many years, died at 
Harlan, Ky., Wednesday, July 31.  Funeral services will be held for him from 
the Myers funeral home in Ionia Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Interment 
will be held at Easton cemetery.

Born at Six Lakes, he lived the major part of his life in Ionia.  He moved to 
Kentucky a few years ago.  He was married to Mary Batson of Ionia and for many 
years he had charge of the Batson restaurant in Ionia.

Surviving are one brother, Elmer M. Patterson, of Lyons, one sister, Mrs. 
Katherine Stevens of East Main street in Ionia, and several nieces and nephews.
