Ionia Sentinel, 22 & 25 Aug 1979

Ionia – Bessie Patterson, 65, of 702 N. Jefferson St., died Saturday at 
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Ionia 
County, the daughter of Jesse and Annah J. (DeLaVergne) Stiles.  She was 
married April 21, 1934 in Ionia to William T. Patterson who preceded her in 
death on July 5, 1979.

Mrs. Patterson was employed by the Chrysler Trim Plant for 20 years before 
retiring in 1975.  She was also a member of the UAW of Chrysler.

Survivors include one son, Keith Patterson, of Ionia; one brother, Howard 
Stiles, Ionia; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers-Roetman Funeral 
Home with Rev. George Douma officiating.  Burial will be in the Tuttle 
Cemetery.  The family will meet friends and relatives Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 
7-9 p.m.

Ionia – Funeral services for Bessie Patterson were conducted at 2 p.m. from the 
Myers-Roetman Funeral Home with the Rev. George Douma officiating.  Burial was 
in Tuttle Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Craig and Tim Patterson, Jesse Frost, 
Charles Stiles, James Page, William Maynard and A. W. Stalter.  Following 
graveside services, a luncheon was served at the First Presbyterian Church by 
ladies of the church.
