Frances Patterson, 80, formerly of Bass Lake, Gowen, died Friday, May 30, 2003 
at Metron of Cedar Springs, after a three-year battle with cancer.  She was 
born in Grand Rapids on December 8, 1922.

She married Woodrow W. Patterson in Grand Rapids in November 1945.  She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Patterson, in 1990; and sisters, 
Gertrude Bruce, Mary Petersen and Kathleen Middlebrook.

She is survived by her children, Carol Hawkins of Grand Rapids, Barbara Minard 
of Howard City, James and Candace Patterson of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; 
two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Howard Bruce, 
William Petersen and Earl Middlebrook.

Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. to day at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with 
visitation beginning at 1 p.m.  Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
