Peabody, 61, well known farmer, died Wednesday at his home near Mulliken following several week's illness. Mr. Peabody was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Marquerite; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gerlits of Leslie, Mrs. June McDaniels of Mulliken; Mrs. Martha Ann Loveland of Santa Clara, Calif., Miss Norma Jean Peabody of Freeport, New York, and Marilyn at home; two sons, Fred of Saranac, who is assistant Ionia county extension agent in agriculture, and James, with the U.S. Navy; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Hinkle of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Ruth Blancett of Detroit and one brother, Earl of Sacramento, Calif. Funeral service was held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Barker funeral hoe in Mulliken. The Rev. George Barna officiated, and interment was at Meadowbrook cemetery near Mulliken.
