Peacock, 33, of Lake Odessa, who died late Wednesday, Oct. 29, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Edwards Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Moeggenberg officiated with interment in Lakeside Cemetery. Miss Peacock died at Pennock Hospital, following a long illness. She had cancer. She was born Nov. 23, 1935, the daughter of Leander and Reine (Conway) Peacock and was a life-long resident of Lake Odessa. A graduate of the Lake Odessa High School, she also received her BA degree from Western Michigan University in 1953 and master’s from Michigan State University in 1963. She taught school at Battle Creek for one year, at the St. Therese School in Lansing five years and at Waverly for six years. Miss Peacock was a member of … [unreadable]… Beta Epsilon Alumni Sorority at WMU. Surviving are her parents; three brothers, Thomas, of Ionia; Richard, Lake Odessa, and Harry of Pewamo; three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Winkler and Mrs. Keith (Helen) Haller of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Duane (Frances) Glasgow of Hastings, and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Conway of Grand Rapids. The rosary was recited at the Pickens chapel Friday. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
