Peacock, 68, died Monday morning after a lengthy illness. She had been a patient at Ionia Manor the past several days. She was born in Casey, Iowa, April 8, 1900, the daughter of Charles and Anna Jager Griffith and came to Michigan in 1920. She was married to Elwood Peacock, September 1922, and lived all her married life in Lake Odessa area. A member of East Odessa Wesleyan church, she also belonged to its Missionary society, Blue Star Mothers chapter and served as its president in 1951 and 1952 and also state president in 1958-59. For many years she was employed at the Lake Odessa Canning factory. Besides her husband, Elwood, she also leaves a son, Hugh of Lake Odessa and daughter, Mrs. Cecil Hynes of Silver Springs, Md. and two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William Lehse of Des Moines, Iowa, and a brother, Harold Griffith of Casey, Iowa. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
