Peacock, 93, of Chipley, Fla., formerly of Portland, passed away on September 11, 2005. She was born on November 8, 1911 in Portland, the daughter of Willard and Addie (Fuller) Kinney. Thelma married Homer J. Peacock on June 26, 1930 and together they shared 53 years of marriage. Mrs. Peacock was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chipley, Fla. and was active in her Sunday School Class and in the Triple-L Seniors Group. Thelma was also active in the Chipley Council on Aging. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer; daughter, Gwendolyn; granddaughter, Deborah; sister, Frances; sister and brother-in-aw, Elnora and Fred Dorner. Surviving are children, Bill (Alice) Peacock of Shipley, Fla. and Janice (Ray) Ferris of Portland; seven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces, Katie (Larry) Terpstra and Jackie (Mel) Martin. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Dan Colletti, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Chipley, Fla. on Sept. 16. Interment followed at East Sebewa Cemetery, Portland. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben- Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, in memory of Mrs. Thelma M. Peacock.
