Peacock, 74, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at Hastings Pennock hospital where he had been admitted the day before. Born August 29, 1897, near Lake Odessa, he was a son of Samuel and Eunice Lindley Peacock and was a life long resident of the area. He retired from active employment in 1966, after more than 25 years with an auto manufacturer in Lansing. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Greta M. Griffith, March 31, 1869. Survivors include a son Hugh of Lake Odessa; a daughter Mrs. Cecil Hynes of Silver Springs, Md., two grandchildren; two brothers, Leander of Lake Odessa and Walter of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Bouse of Big Timber, Mont., and Mrs. Fred Van Zee of St. Petersburg, Fla. Services will be at Pickens funeral chapel at 1 p.m. May 27, the Rev. Marvin Zimmerman of Central United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
