Jan. 30, 2021 Thomas Leroy Peacock born January 18, 1938 passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side in his home on January 16, 2021 exactly 8 months following the death of his loving wife Lois (Sessions) Peacock married sixty years. He was the son of Thomas Leander and Reine (Conway) Peacock. Tom was born and raised in Lake Odessa, Michigan. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army 1956 - 1958 stationed in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. Tom worked many years in the grocery industry including Kroger as produce manager and on their auditing crew and later working in management at Fate’s Spartan Stores in Carson City and Lake Odessa later known as Carl’s Supermarket. After retirement he worked at GR Office Products along with his wife and daughter, Shari. Tom had been a boy scout and a member of the St. Johns Jaycees, Lake Odessa Lions Club (serving as chairman of the White Cane Drive and collection of used eye glasses), the Lake Odessa Historical Society, and the Ionia County Genealogical Society. Tom and Lois enjoyed traveling, camping with his family, golfing, bowling, and for over ten years spending the winter in Bradenton, Florida. They treasured their friendships with their many Florida friends. Tom is survived by his three daughters Catherine (Mark) Haney, Carolyn (Scott) Chapman, Shari (Brad) Clark, adopted Belgian exchange student Cecile (Ryszard) Poncin; grandchildren Michael (Steven) Becker, Lauren (Evan) Dewitt, Nathan (Tristen) Haney, Benjamin Haney, Richie (Ashley) Noyce, Stacie (Steven) Scholten, Darcie (Jake) Graveling, Bradley Clark, Lindsey (Josh) Howell, William Apostol; great-grandchildren Thomas Noyce, Illyana Ponce, Emma Howell, Maryn Scholten, and two more great grandbabies on their way due in July (Nathan & Richie’s), sister Betty Carey, brothers Dick (Gayle) Peacock and Harry (Helen) Peacock, sister-in-laws Carole (Don) Converse and Juanita (known as Sue) Reno. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, sisters Helen (Keith) Haller, Catherine (known as Cacky) Peacock, and Frances Glasgow. Memorial contributions cam be made to Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Please, note that visitation will be limited to 25 guests at a time, to allow for social distancing and masks will be required. Kilpatrick Church has plenty of room for social distancing and will not be limited to the 25 guests for services.
