Wing of Woodland. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa. Most of his life was spent in Odessa where he received his schooling. He was always interested in politics and served as Justice of the Peace some years ago. He was of a genial disposition and made many friends. He never married. OBITUARY John jay Peacock was born June 6, 1862 in Randolph county, Indiana, and passed from this life August 2,1941, being 79 years of age. At the age of three years he came with his parents to Ionia county, Michigan, where he has since resided almost his entire life. He was the son of John H and Margaret C.Peacock, long time residents of Odessa township, and was one of a family of nine children, four of whom survive him, two brothers Arthur Peacock of WaKeeney, Kan., and Jason E Peacock of lake Odessa, two sisters Mrs Thursa Goodemoot of Sebewa and Mrs.Anna Steiner of Sheridan, Mont., also many other relatives and friends. He was baptized in June, 1924 and has since lived a kindly and consistent Christian life and died in the hope of eternal life with loved ones gone before.
