All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Heintzelman sheintz@iserv.net June 4, 2011, 11:56 am Portland Observer, 11 Apr 1929 Illness Is Fatal To Mrs. Guy Peake Tragic Death Of Young Matron Leaves Four Little Children Without Mother One of the most tragic deaths to occur in this vicinity for some time was that of Mrs. Guy Peake, of Danby township, who passed away at her home Sunday, following an illness from blood poisoning which set in shortly after the birth of a baby on Tuesday, March 26, leaving three other little ones beside the baby motherless. Funeral services were held from the home, in charge of Rev. J. H. Stewart, Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made in Danby cemetery. Mrs. Peake was formerly Miss Pearl Pryer, daughter of William Pryer, one of Danby township’s most prominent pioneer residents. She was born in that township on December 21, 1891, and had spent her entire lifetime in that vicinity. On February 26, 1920, she was married to Mr. Peake, who with the four children, the oldest of whom is eight years of age, the aged father, William Pryer, one sister, Mrs. Robert Brooke, of Portland, and two brothers, Dr. Roy Pryer of Danby, and Thomas Pryer, of N?n??a, survive.
