W. Peake Succumbed To Heart Attack Early Wednesday. The second death, that of C. W. Peake, 79, prominent Danby resident, occurred at 7 o’clock Wednesday morning at his home on the Mulliken road. He had returned to the house from doing some chores and was sitting reading a magazine when he was stricken with a heart attack. Funeral rites will be held at the Bandfield funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday and burial will be in Danby cemetery. Rev. W. E. Brown will officiate. The body will remain at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ben Sykes, until the funeral. Mr. Peake had been in good health, except for an injury he suffered to his leg several years ago which necessitated use of crutches. He was a life-long resident of Danby township having been born there October 21, 1859. He had held many township offices and was honorary member of the Danby Grange, as well as a life member of the Oddfellow lodge. His wife, the former Eva Dutcher, whom he married October 6, 1883, preceded him in death on June 18, 1924. Surviving besides Mrs. Sykes are three other daughters: Mrs. Ray Pryer of Seattle who has been in Portland for the last year, Mrs. Luther Lindsley and Mrs. Perry Lindsley, both of Portland. There are two sons, Guy Peake of Danby and Hugh Peake, of Madison, Wisconsin. A brother, Russell Peake of Portland survives.
