Peake, aged 59 years, passed away at the family home in Danby township, Tuesday morning, following a stroke of paralysis from which she was stricken the day previous, a second stroke occurring Tuesday morning from which she failed to rally. Although she had been in ill health for a number of years her last confining sickness started two weeks ago when she became afflicted with neuralgia of the heart. Funeral services will be held at the residence, Friday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, in charge of Rev. J. H. Stewart. Burial will be made in Danby cemetery. Mrs. Peake’s maiden name was Eva Dutcher and when a small baby she came from Ohio with her parents, settling in this community. In October, 1883, she was married to Mr. Peake and for many years had lived on their farm three miles south of Portland in Danby township. Besides the husband she is survived by four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ray Pryer, of Bryn Mawr, Wash.; Hugh of Madison, Wisconsin; Mrs. Ben Sykes, Mrs. Perry Lindsley and Guy Peake, of Portland and Miss Grace, at home. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Frank Card, and a half-brother, Will Dutcher, both of Portland.
