J. WARREN PEAKE. Her Death Came at An Early Hour Friday Morning. Ann Eliza, wife of J. Warren Peake, died at 4:30 o'clock Friday morning at her home, 134 West Lincoln avenue. The maiden name of deceased was Miss Lyon, and she was born Sept. 3, 1835, in Steuben county, New York. She was married to Mr. Peake in Ohio, Feb. 24, 1856, and came with him a month later to Danby, Ionia county, where they lived until 1886, when they came to this city and have since made their home here. This good woman, who had been a resident of the county for over 40 years and was counted among its pioneers, died at the age of 65 years and eleven days. She was a member of the Universalist church at Portland, and a bright characteristic of her life was her devotion to home and family. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Peake. A daughter, Mrs. Bell Martin, died March 11, 1892, but three sons survive, viz: Russell A., of Lakeview; Lynn W., of Grand Rapids; and Clarence W., of Danby. The funeral services were held from the home Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, and the remains taken to Danby for interment. Deceased having been a member of Beatrice lodge, Daughters of Rebekah, all members, as well as all Oddfellows, were requested to attend the funeral.
