Vivian Marie Pearce aged 73 of Ionia, passed away Aug. 23, 2007.  She was born 
March 11, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the daughter of Fred and Ida (Johnson) 
Broadbent. Vivian married Jack Pearce Sept. 15, 1961. He preceded her in death 
in 1988. Vivian got her start in the restaurant business working at Pete's 
Tavern and Bosley's Lunch Counter and later she owned and operated “Vivian's 
Restaurant” in Ionia for 30 years. Vivian was a member of the Moose Lodge and 
First Christian Church.

She is survived by her children Cindy and John Sanderson of Muir, Mike Pierson 
of Lansing, Patte and Santana Martinez of Florida, Craig and Sharon Pearce of 
Saranac, Peggy and Tim Wray of Ionia, Nancy Gardner of Ionia, David Pearce of 
Grand Rapids ,Wendi and Steve Gross of Ionia, Sandi Pearce and Dan Bussell of 
Ionia, and Sheri and Larry Bussell of Ionia; sister Ayleen and Bill Wieland of 
Clarksville; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one son Mark Pearce, one brother Fred Broadbent Jr 
and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday at First Christian Church in 
Ionia with Pastor Armand Aronson officiating. Internment at Sunset Memorial 
Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 
7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. In lieu of flowers, memorial 
contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Ionia.
