Ionia Sentinel Standard, 19 Aug 2002

Lawrence “Larry” Pearson, 82, of Ionia passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2002, in 
Ionia.  He was born Feb. 8, 1920 in Sheridan, the son of Frank and Jennie 
(Soule) Pearson.  He went on to marry Linnie Teed June 21, 1941 in Sheridan.

He served in the Navy and was a World War II veteran.  He retired from the 
Department of Corrections and State Hospital in 1978.  Larry was an avid 
golfer, bow hunter and bowler.

He is survived by his wife, Linnie Pearson of Ionia; sons, Jim (Suzie) Pearson 
of Ionia and Al (Mary Ann) Pearson of Ionia; daughter, Joyce (Robert) Renucci 
of Ionia; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Father Scott Anderson officiating.  Interment will be Sunset Memorial 
Gardens.  The family will receive friends and family from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., 
Thursday at the funeral home.

Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society 
in Larry’s memory.  Envelopes available at the funeral home.
