Pearson was born in Lanawee County,Michigan, June 18, 1859 and departed this life September 23, 1921 at Lake Odessa, Michigan, aged 62 years, 3 months, 5 days. His early life and up to full manhood was spent on the parental homestead where also on Sept. 24, 1885, he was married to Miss Mary E.Parker. Together they lived on the farm for six years, until in 1891, when they moved to Lake Odessa, which has been their home ever since. Their union was blessed with three children, Mrs.Myrtle Murphy, and Flint Pearson of Lake Odessa, and Geo. Pearson, who resides in Lansing. Mr.Pearson was a citizen most highly respected and honored. For twenty-two years the people honored him with the position of Justice of Peace, which he capably filled. In the Methodist church he held the office of financial secretary and for many years was a member of the Official board as a steward. He was converted to God as a lad of 13 years of age under the pastorate of Rev. A.R.Hazen, when he also united with the church and continued in its fellowship all his days. Brother Pearson was a conscientious spiritual minded Christian and was ever to give to every one a reason for the hope and faith which was the vital actuating principal of his whole life. Hence also when he came to the closing days of his life, when he felt the earth receding, he had no fear, for he had a definite Christian experience and knew whom he had believed, and was persuaded that He was able to keep that which he had committed unto Him against that day. He was in feeble health for many years, but ever toiled at various tasks as he was able. His last sickness, when he suffered an attack of appendicitis, lasted five weeks, during most of the time of which he was a great though patient sufferer. Besides the members of the immediate family and their connections already mentioned, he leaves three brothers all older than himself, namely Alfred and Fletcher Pearson of Hastings, Neb., and Charles Pearson of Tecumseh, Neb. Also one sister, Mrs.Rev. A.R. Keillor of Boyne City, Mich. Also brother-in-law, Boyd and Fred Parker of Lenawee County, together with other relatives and a host of friends, who mourn his departure.
