She had spent the afternoon at the Ladies’ Aid Society and leaving there walked only a short distance when taken with a stroke of apoplexy. A doctor was just at hand but nothing could be done. Mrs. Pease was born in Herkimer county, N. Y. and was 72 years old last August. She had been twice married and had one little child that stayed with her six years. When left a widow the second time she came to Michigan and for nearly twelve years had lived with her sister, Mrs. R. K. Smith. She was a member of the Methodist church of Hubbardston and faithful to all her ideas of Christian duty. She hoped to go before her sister did and that she might have no long illness, so it seemed like the good Father’s answer to his child when like a telegram from home came the summons which called her away.
