Earl Peasley, 73, died in Fletcher, Okla., Wednesday morning at the home of a daughter with whom he made his home the past eight years. He was born in Ionia, December 30, 1895, the son of Ransler and Rachel Bell Peasley. He attended Ionia schools before moving with the family to a farm on old US 16. He was employed at Oldsmobile in Lansing until retirement in 1961 when he went to live with his daughter in Fletcher. He also saw service in the Army at the Mexican border. Surviving are a son Maurice of Lowell; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert VanAlstine of Lowell and Mrs. J.C. Kendall of Fletcher, Okla., 10 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. August Dreger of Ionia. Funeral services were in Oklahoma Friday afternoon. The body will arrive in Ionia late Saturday where funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Boynton-Leddick funeral home. Rev. Theodore Forbes of First Christian church will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
