Peck, 90, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, June 9, 2005, at her home. She was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Ionia, the daughter of Walter G. and Maggie B. Quigley Davenport. Dorothy was a member of VFW Post 3794 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of First Church of God, Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Laura Davenport; sister, Clara Church; and brothers Frank, Ralph and Royal Davenport. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John H.; daughter, Doris Gillis of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren, Audrey Gillis of Florida, Teresa Gillis of Texas, Monica and Paul Smith of Trufant, Jane Gillis of Greenville; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Emerson and Rosemary Peck of Mesa, Ariz., Victor and Doris Peck of Anaheim, Calif.; sister-in-law, Bernice Taylor of Cedar Springs; and nieces and nephews. Funeral and committal services are 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of God, Greenville, Burial is in Trufant Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to First Church of God.
