Feb. 17, 1988 J. FRANCIS PECKINS LYONS - J. Francis Peckins, 82, of 7055 Peckins Road, Lyons, died Feb. 15, in Lansing. He was born Nov. 19, 1905, in Lyons, the son of Oscar and Cora Rock Peckins. He was born on the Peckins Road farm where he lived all his life. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1923. He married Dolores Barry on May 5, 1937 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary Mary 5. 1987. He served 25 years on the Agricultural Conservation and Stabilization Service board, was a life-long member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and was a past member of he Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Dolores; three sons, John, James, and Joseph, all of Lyons; one daughter Fran Linsemier of Portland; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward, and his sister, Margaret Ranger. Complete funeral mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The family will be at the Rich street Chapel of the Cook Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30. The rosary will be resited Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be left at the funeral home for the Future Farmers of American or Masses to the Church.
