Peer The News of Her Sudden Going Shocked the Multitude of Family Friends. Mrs. W.C. Peer passed to the great eternal beyond quite unexpectedly, at about eleven o’clock on Sunday morning. The sad intelligence spread over the city quickly, and was universally received as a shock. Mrs. Peer had been under the doctor’s care, and confined to the house, corner of Union St. and Lincoln avenue, about two weeks. She was not accounted hopelessly ill, though it is said she insisted to the attending physician she had not the strength to fight the battle and get well, and when the time came, she “just folded her hands and sunk to her slumber.” Deceased in her girlhood was Jessie S., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Silas N. Stone of this city, and she was married to Will C. Peer in 1892. She was the mother of two beautiful children, Theo., daughter, aged 6 years, and Russel, son, aged 4. She was a beautiful little woman in her home and social life, in fact in all that goes to make up a lovely and loveable character. She died all too young at the age of 27 years. The funeral will be on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, at the Church of Christ. Discourse by Rev. W.H. Scott of Marshalltown, Iowa. Interment in Highland Park.
