Ionia Sentinel Standard, Mar 1998

Mrs. Lorraine J. Pelon, 71, of Ionia died March 2 at Blodgett Memorial Medical
Center in East Grand Rapids.  She was born the daughter of Lesley and Maude
(Liscombe) Murphy on March 23, 1926 in Ionia.  She graduated from Ionia High
School in 1943.  She was an active member in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #4646
in Lyons, and an avid Bingo Player.

Surviving are three sons, John A. (Lee Ann) Pelon of Fort Smith, Ark.; Paul A.
(Belle) Pelon III of Lowell and Neal A. (Lori) Pelon of Ionia.  Also surviving
are two daughters, Lesley Jo (David) Sandborn of Jonesboro, Ark. and Penny A.
(Brian) Stout of Muir; and 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Mort (Shirley) Murphy
and Joe (Sharon) Murphy both of Crescent City, Fla.  She was preceded in death
by her husband, Paul Pelon Jr. in 1984.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sunset Memorial
Gardens in Ionia, with Rev. David Flagel from the LeValley United Methodist
Church officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Helping Hands
Hospice in care of Cook Funeral Home, in Ionia.
