Janet K. Peltier, 66, of Ionia, died early Friday morning Sept. 20, 2013, at 
Mercy Health–Saint Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.  The daughter of Howard H. 
and Phyllis J. (Scheafer), Janet was born on Feb. 6, 1947 in Grand Ledge, Mich.

Janet was a good-hearted, caring and trusting woman; she was a great cook and 
loved carrots.  She could always be heard to say, in regards to carrots, "You 
have to have a little color!"

Janet is loved and survived by her daughters, Jalaine (Steve) Rux, Brandy 
Ferris and Kevin Lawrence; her grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, R.J., Mathias, 
Dylan and Morgan; one great grandchild, Lilly; her siblings, Pamela Smith, 
Steven Imhoff and Dennis Imhoff; and close friend of 10 years Herb Peltier.  
Janet is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Daniel and Howard.

Honoring Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place; a graveside service will be 
held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at Muir Cemetery, with a luncheon to 
follow at the VFW in Lyons.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of 
Janet are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association or the National 
Kidney Foundation; envelopes are available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding, where funeral services are entrusted.
