Pelzer, a former resident of Ionia, died Friday at Michigan City, Indiana, where he was living with a son. His death followed a third stroke of paralysis and he had been in ill health for some time. he was 71 years of age and leaves three sons and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Moses. Notice was received in this city from his son Chester, who is with the Olivet Optic at Olivet, Mich. Mr. Pelzer came to Ionia about 35 years ago and went to work at the car shops where he was employed for many years. He was at one time marshall of the city and was a power in local politics, a man with many friends and very popular. About 12 years ago he left this city, his health failing him, and went to live with his son. Burial was at Michigan City.
