Sentinel-Std. - Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1949

George E. Pemberton, Sr. 80, died of a heart attack Sunday, Nov. 27, at Clare 
while hunting near there with his son, George Jr., of Ionia. Pemberton had made 
his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Pemberton, Jr., 
of Ionia, for the last four years. 

He was born July 24, 1869 at Raggie and spent most of his life near Clare and 
Kalkaska where he was a farmer.

He leaves a son, George, Jr., of Ionia; one brother, William, of Kalkaska; 
three daughters, Mrs. John Miller and Mrs. Hullie Miller of Saranac, and Mrs. 
Gladys Adams of Carp lake. 

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Thurston funeral home at 
Clare with interment at Farwell cemetery.
