Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Sept. 9,2008


On Sept. 5, 2008, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Bonnie Pennington, 
went Home to be with her Lord.

Bonnie was born in Dayton, Ohio on Feb. 20, 1943 to Grand and Ruth Blood. She 
graduated from Woodland High School in 1961 and married Vaughn Pennington on 
June 3, 1961. They were long-time residents of Lake Odessa, until recently 
living in Swartz Creek, Mich.

She is survived by her husband, Vaughn; children, Vince (Janet) Pennington, 
Gary (Gretta) Pennington, both of Lake Odessa, and daughter, Rebecca Pennington 
of Birdsborough, Pa.; six grandchildren, Morgan, Colin, Bryce, Amber, Gloria 
and Corey; and brother and sisters, Grand (Pat) Blood of Ionia, Paulette 
Wolfington of Lenoir, N.C., Joan (Ed) Heinig of Lansing and Kathy Elton of 
Belding. 

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; brother Daryl; sister, Joyce and 
granddaughter, Brooke.

Visitation with Bonnie’s family was held Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on 
Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in lakeside 
Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to 
the Make-A-Wish Foundation (230 Huron View Parkway, Ann Arbor, MI 48103)
