Irene D. Pennington, of Portland, born Aug. 12, 1925 to Edward and Susanna 
(Simon) Nurenberg, passed away on Sept. 23, 2009 with her family by her side.

She was an Avon representative for more than 30 years.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents and her eight brothers and sisters.

Irene is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Dale; and their four 
children, Dick (Debbie) Pennington, Judy (Don) Lambie, Sandra (Jim) Roberts and 
Jim Pennington; grandchildren, Corey Goodemoot, Darby (Dawn) Goodemoot, Lynsey 
(Derek) Evangelista, Jeff (Shannon) Pennington, Troy Lambie, and Kim (boyfriend 
Ryan) Pennington; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Chloe, Dominic, Cedir, Garrit, 
Greysen, Will and a new baby boy due in November; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was being conducted by the Rev. Keith Treman, Pastor on 
Sept. 26 at the Scharuben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland with interment 
following at North Eagle Cemetery.

Commission on Aging, 115 Hudson St., Ionia, MI 48846, the Ionia County 
Community Mental Health, 375 Apple Tree Dr., Ionia, MI 48846, or to the Hospice
