Dec. 1, 1977 Former Resident Passes Away Richard W. Pennington, 55, of Orlando, Florida, former Lake Odessa residence passed away Tuesday, November 15. He was born in Sedgwick, Kansas, the son of Wayne and Wilma Pennington and had been a resident of Orlando for 20 years. He was a 1940 graduate of the Lake Odessa high school and was a World War II veteran. He was employed by the Michigan Bell telephone Co. while residing in the Hastings area and then transferred to Battle Creek where he resided after his marriage, before moving to Florida. Mr. Pennington was a toll maintenance man for 36 1/2 years for Michigan Bell and Southern Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of the Holden Heights United Methodist Church and was an active member in church activities and organizations. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; a daughter, Denise of Orlando; three sons, David L. of Orlando, Larry R. of Seffner, Fla. and Ronald W. of Orlando; his mother, Mrs. Wilma Pennington of Hastings and Florida; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Harold of Battle Creek, Wayne Jr. of Grand Ledge and Rex Pennington, rural Freeport. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Holden Heights United Methodist Church with burial in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
