PENNINGTON
Jerry Lynn Pennington, age 78 of Ionia, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. 
Jerry was born on March 3, 1943, the son of Harold and Pauline (Lake) Pennington 
in Ionia. On July 8,1961 he married the love of his life, Pamela, who preceded 
him in death in 2009.

Jerry retired from Fisher Body and served his country in the Army during 
Vietnam. He was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge, VFW and the American Legion. 
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, garage parties playing cards, and hanging with 
friends.

Jerry is survived by his children, Gary Pennington, Chris (Toni) Pennington, 
Stacy Marcussen (Jason) and Nickki (Steve) Hurlbut (Sarah), Jason (Traci) 
Guernsey, Janelle Allen (David), Clay Pennington and Garik Pennington; great-
grandchildren, Aubrey VanDeusen, Hudsyn Hurlbut, Katleigh Allen, Ryker Spicer 
and Melody Pennington; sisters, Dierdra Hybarger and Sharon Kline; sister-in-
laws, Sug (Dave) Pinnow and Lisa Loucks-McKee and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Pamela; in-laws, Harold 
and Patricia Loucks; brother-in-laws, Tom Loucks; Louise Kline, William Dennis 
and Ken Hybarger; sister-in-law, Karen Dennis and daughter-in-law Lona 
Pennington.

A visitation was held form 11 AM-12PM on Wednesday, April 28th at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. The family asks if you  would wear plaid shirts in memory 
of Jerry. Private funeral services held. Graveside services with military honors 
was at 2 PM at East Plains cemetery public welcomed. Online Condolences can be
