January 14, 2023 PENNINGTON Don Pennington was born June 24, 1945 in Eaton County, to Alice (Williams)Pennington and Philip Ira Pennington. His family moved to Ionia where Don attended Saranac Public Schools, participated in Track and Band, graduating in 1965. Don was a gifted musician and played several instruments, with guitar being his favorite.Together with his brother Phil they formed "The Country Rhythm Boys" Band, playing music from Mackinaw Island to Indiana. On August 3, 1968 Don married Verna (Midge) Cotter. They had two children, Tonja Sue and Donald Trent.They moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2001. He is survived by his wife, children, several grandchildren and sister Nellie Tompkins of Sears,Michigan. Don passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was kind and a good hearted person who will be greatly missed.
