Ionia Standard - Fri. April 27, 1917


Mrs. Hannah A. Penrod, wife of James Penrod, died Wed. morning at 5:00 at their 
home on West Main Street, just outside the city limits. She was 26 years old 
and leaves two children – seven years and fourteen months old. Her mother, Mrs. 
Walter Turk of Rapid City, arrived here shortly after her death. The body will 
be taken there for burial, probably tomorrow night. Jaundice is given as the 
cause of death.
