May 11, 2013 CLARKSVILLE, MI- Leo Luin Pepper, Jr., age 82, of Clarksville went to be with his Lord Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Eaton Community Palliative Care surrounded by his loving family. Leo was born December 3, 1930 in Ada, MI to Leo L. and Ethel M. (Boote) Pepper, Sr. He was a graduate of Saranac High School and later received his associated in electrical engineering from Grand Rapids Junior College. On August 6, 1950 Leo married the love of his life, Wanda Piercefield. Leo retired after 30 years from GM as an electrician. Leo enjoyed woodworking, computers, reading and tutoring at Clarksville Elementary School. Leo was a very active member at the Clarksville Bible Church where he taught Sunday school along with many other ministries. Perhaps his most important ministry being his daily walks in which he prayed for his family and friends. Leo will be dearly missed by wife, Wanda; children, Joel (Gail) Pepper of Lake Odessa, Gloria (Barry) Smith of Charlotte, Linda (Steven) Hamlet of Jenison, Dr. Larry (Sally) Pepper of Tanzania, Africa; siblings, Joyce (Carroll) Eckman of Clarksville, Terry (Irene) Pepper of Clarksville, along with 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceding Leo in death were his parents; brother, Roger Pepper; sister-in-law, Barb and nephew, Terry Pepper Jr. Funeral services were held at the Clarksville Bible Church, 191 S. Main St. Clarksville, MI 48815 on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Interment will be in private at the Clarksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clarksville Bible Church or the International Mission Board, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-0716 ear-marked for the work of Larry and Sally Pepper in Tanzania, Africa.
