April 12 & Mon. Aug GEORGE A. PERCIVAL DEAD. The remains of George A. Percival arrived this noon from Evart, accompanied by his brother, W.J. Percival. The death of Mr. Percival from apoplexy on Friday, came as a great shock to his friends here, as he left town only a few days ago in apparently good health. Mr. Percival came from a well-known family of Palo, and has been well known throughout the county, where he had innumerable friends. In his early days he was in William Freeman’s Bank in Lyons, and while there was the Lyons correspondent for the Ionia Sentinel. He was also one of Ionia’s famous ball team, which played against the Detroit team in 1876 at the Ionia Fair Grounds. Later Mr. Percival left his home vicinity and for many years lived in parts of several western states and territories engaged in newspaper and other office business. At one time he was in the State Savings Bank here, and in recent years he has not engaged in steady work, though he has frequently helped out in the work of the People’s Mutual Insurance Co. Mr. Percival never married, and is survived by a brother, Will Percival of Evart. He has many friends, being the type of man, whom all respect client business man, and a faithful friend. The funeral will be held at the Palo Methodist church at two o’clock on Sunday, the interment being in the Palo Cemetery. Monday Aug. 14, 1919 The funeral for George Percival was held Sunday afternoon at the Palo Methodist church, Rev. Crawford officiating. Mrs. Scott and Myrtle Beach furnished the music.
