Nellie Perdew Dies In Detroit Last Week

Mrs. Nellie Perdew, the former Nell Hamby, died suddenly at her home in Detroit 
July 16. Her sister, Mrs. Clara Wolfram, who resided with her, found Mrs. 
Perdew dead in bed. Deceased was born in New York state in 1877 and resided in 
Portland a number of years when the Hamby family lived here. She had been in 
Detroit for 43 years. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Wolfram are two other 
sisters, Mrs. Fred Burhans, Lansing, and Mrs. Charles Anderson, of Indiana, and 
several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at a Detroit funeral 
home on Wednesday, July 18, and the remains were brought to Portland for 
burial.
