He was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Ionia the son of Julian and Clara (Dalton) Perrien. Ed married Therese Platte on May 11, 1955, in Westphalia. He worked in maintenance for the Department of Corrections in Ionia. Ed was a member of SS Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Sheridan VFW, and an AQHA member. He loved auctions and raised many horses. Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years, Therese Perrien of Ionia; children, Rick (Olivia) Perrien of Ionia, Cynthia (Loren) Weller of Ionia, Amy (John) Norton of Big Rapids, John (Donelda) Perrien of Pewamo, Edward G. (Karie) Perrien of Ionia, and Jody (Amy ) Perrien of Jenison; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Curty Lyle; two brothers; four sisters; and grandson, Nicholas Norton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 22, 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Boufford Celebrant. Rite of Committal at Mt. Olivet. Visitation on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing may make a contribution in Ed’s name to the SS Peter & Paul’s Catholic School or Spectrum Hospice.
