Feb. 15, 2018 EDWARD PERRIEN, 48 Edward Gerard Perrien, 48, of Saranac, passed away Feb. 11, 2018. He was born Nov. 12, 1969, in Ionia, the son of Edward L. and Therese A. (Platte) Perrien. He married the love of his life, Karaile "Karie" Patton, on April 16, 2011, in Portland. Edward "Ed" was a gentle and caring soul, who enjoyed lifting weights, working with computers, fishing and spending time with Karie, their extended families and their cats. He also cherished memories of time spent with family and friends at Dickerson Lake. His smile lit up a room and he had a clever with and wonderful sense of humor. A lifelong resident of the Ionia area, he attended SS. Peter and Paul and Ionia schools where he made lifelong friends. He was currently working at CU Answers in Grand Rapids. Surviving Edward are his wife Karie Perrien of Saranac; mother, Therese Perrien of Ionia; siblings, Rick (Olivia) Perrien of Ionia, Cindy (Loren) Weller of Ionia, Amy (John) Norton of Big Rapids, John (Sis) Perrien of Pewamo, Jody (Amy) Perrien of Jenison; mother and father-in-law, James and Rosalie Patton of Ionia; sisters-in-law, Kim (Rick)Poole of Ionia, Kristie (Tom) Ferguson of Kentucky; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and three cats Mila, Misha and Mia. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Curt Perrien, Nephew Nicholas Norton and cat Angel. Funeral services will be held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday February 16, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jon Prominski officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Safe Haven or Alcoholics Anonymous in Lansing.
