The Ionia Standard, Friday, November 27, 1885
Mrs. Sarah Perrin for several years past a resident of this township, died 
Saturday, Nov. 21st at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Newton, in 
Maple Rapids township, aged 93 years.  Deceased was among the earlier settlers 
of this village, having removed here in 1834.  There were but four families in 
the entire township at that time.  The funeral services were held in the 
Methodist church, Sunday, Rev. W. J. Miller officiating., assisted by Revs. 
Carman and Breed.
