Kathy (Gunter) Perry, age 55, of Ionia lost her battle with brain cancer on 
Saturday, Oct 3, 2009 at her home in Ionia.

She was born June 13, 1954 in Highland Park, the daughter of Arthur and 
Virginia (Gage) Gunter. She married Wayne Perry, June 30, 1973 in Ionia. She 
grew up in Saranac and lived the majority of her life in the Ionia area. She 
was employed as a secretary for 22 ½ years for the State of Michigan, Dept. of 
Corrections. She was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. 
She enjoyed being with them and spoiling them with love as much as possible. 
She was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, hiking and liked Tiger Baseball.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Perry of Ionia; two sons, Jason 
(Angela) Perry and Nick (Kelly) Perry all of Ionia; four grandchildren, 
Baileigh, Ava, Aiden and Ashton; her brother, Kerry (Mary) Gunter of LaPlace; a 
sister, Karen (Tom) Reed of Ionia and her mother-in-law, Ruth Perry of Ionia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Virginia Gunter of Saranac.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place; no viewing or funeral 
services will be held. Family and friends may attend a memorial service 
honoring her life at her home, 1077 E. David Hwy. of Ionia, on Saturday, Oct. 
10,2009 at 3 p.m. Arrangements by Lake funeral Home in Ionia.

Kathy was a 20 year survivor of MS. Anyone wishing may make memorial 
contributions to National MS-Michigan Chapter, 21311 Civic Center Dr., 
Southfield, MI 48076 or Ionia Area Hospice.
