Perry, 68, North Union Street, died Tuesday at the Ionia County Memorial hospital. He was born in Belding, May 7, 1910 to Fred and Dora (Dickinson) Perry. He served with the Michigan National Guard for nine and one-half years and also with the US Army in France and Germany during WWII returning to Ionia in 1945. He was employed by the Ionia city police department, Ionia county sheriff’s department and at the Ionia county road commission retiring in 1972. He married Priscilla Wilson in Ionia on January 30, 1948. Perry was a member of First Christian church, life member of VFW and a member of Belding Post of American Legion. Surviving besides his wife Priscille are two sons, Douglas Correll of Leslie and Richard Perry of Ionia; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joan) Cook of Pewamo; Mrs. Lloyd (Shirley) Loop, Jr. of Ionia; Mrs. Terrance (Virginia) Wood of Ionia. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Murray Hart of Lyons. Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Ronald Dow of the First Christian church will officiate. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. to receive friends and relatives.
