Dec. 5, 1975 ALLEN J. PERRY A former Ionia resident Allen J. Perry, 54, of Gladwin, died late Thursday evening at Ionia Memorial hospital after being a patient one day. Born in Greenville November 22, 1921, he was the son of Harry and Decora Sprague Perry. He moved as a child with his family to Evart and attended school and graduated from high school there. He entered the service in World War II graduating from medical technology school and was attached to the army air force in the pacific with a part of his service in India. Following his discharge from the service in 1945, he returned to Evart then moving to Port Huron. He married in Port Huron December 23, 1950, to Mabel E. Richardson and she survives. He had moved to West Branch before coming to Ionia in 1953 where he was employed by the Ionia Memorial hospital as a laboratory supervisor. In 1971 he moved to Gladwin where he was employed by a Gladwin area hospital until September of 1975. He was a member of the American Medical Technologist association and the Michigan Medical Technologist association. Besides his wife he leaves four sons, John Perry, Michael Perry of Kalamazoo, Patrick and Timothy of Gladwin; daughter, Mrs. Anita Tolen of Ypsilanti; one grandson; father, Harry Perry of Gladwin, and a brother, Robert Perry of Roscommon. Services will be Monday at 11 am at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Edward Orlowski of SS. Peter and Paul church will officiate and interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Ionia Memorial hospital. Family members will be at the funeral home Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
