H. Perry, of Orange, died very suddenly Sunday night. He was in town Saturday. The funeral of O. H. Perry, took place at the family residence, in Orange, Wednesday at 2 p.m.; interment at Portland. Mr. Perry had a bad spell the morning before his death, but was about as usual during the day, and went to bed at the usual hour. His wife awoke in the night and asked him how he was; he replied that he felt very badly, and by the time she could get up and get a light he was gone. He was about 67 years old, and leaves a wife and three children grown to maturity. ---- Oliver Perry, Jr., and wife of Grand Rapids, attended the funeral of Mr. Perry’s father, O. H. Perry, last Wednesday. He is one of the leading grocers of his city and was formerly a popular knight of the grip. ---- A Sudden Summons. Oliver H. Perry, one of the leading farmers of Orange township, died very suddenly on Sunday night last, aged 68 years. He was up and about all day Sunday and during the forenoon took some Ionia friends to his daughter’s (Mrs. Walter Phillips) to spend the day. When he returned he laid down on the couch and complained of not feeling well. Later in the day he went to bed and died about midnight. The cause of his death was heart failure. He had been a resident of Orange about 26 years and was a prosperous farmer and well-known hunter, making a trip every fall into the northern woods deer hunting. He intended to go this fall, as he and his son George had taken out a deer license on Friday last for that purpose. The funeral services will be conducted from his late home on Wednesday afternoon of this week at two o’clock. Rev. D. E. Millard will officiate and burial will be made in Portland cemetery.
